Editorial policy

How we choose, research, write and check the articles on The Wow Info.

Our aim is simple: every article should be accurate, easy to read and worth your time. This page explains how we try to make sure of that.

Choosing topics

We look for questions people are genuinely curious about and facts that are surprising but true. We avoid rumours, sensational claims and topics where a short article could do more harm than good.

Research and sources

Articles are based on reliable sources such as scientific institutions, peer-reviewed research, government agencies, museums and established reference works. The sources an article relies on are listed at the end of it.

How facts are checked

Each new article starts from a plan: one clear question, the facts that answer it and a reliable source for every fact. Every fact is checked against its source before the article is written, and a fact that can't be confirmed is corrected or dropped. The finished text is checked again against the plan and its sources, and an article that doesn't pass these checks is not published.

Articles are usually prepared several days before they go live, which leaves time to change or withdraw them, and we can update or withdraw any article later too.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it. Email thewowinfo.com@gmail.com with the article and the problem. When we make a significant correction we update the article's "Last fact-checked" date.

Ethics and independence

Our articles explain topics in general terms. They are not medical, legal or financial advice for your situation. Ads on the site are chosen by Google and never influence what we write; we don't publish paid or sponsored articles. No one pays us to cover a topic, to link to a site or to leave something out.
